Verde Island Resort is an island resort located at Sitio Subukin, Barangay San Antonio, Isla Verde, Batangas City, Philippines. This is adjacent to a fifty hectare bamboo plantation endowed with a very rich and well – preserved natural environment and wealth. Initially, there are twenty seven (27) luxuriously designed cottages with air – condition, private bath, cable television and in-house telephone system, two (2) food and beverage outlets, a main pavilion/restaurant and a juice bar, (2) swimming pools, adults and kiddie, water sports facilities, coral sand beach area and deep blue sea abundant with coral reefs and tropical fishes.

Verde Island Resort has been designed to blend-in the natural environment of the island. An artistic tapestry of indigenous material has been used to depict a rustic ambiance, reminiscent days of the 19th century Batangas.

Recreational activities such as pony ride, island tour and island hopping trips, hiking and trekking and aqua sports facilities like scuba diving and snorkeling are also offered to water sports enthusiasts.

The Resort has naturally elevated pool area. Located at the southern part of the resort, it is access from the active beach area. Two (2) fresh water pools have been constructed for the guest’s enjoyment, the adult pool and the kiddie pool.

The adult pool, shaped like a clover leaf, is accentuated by a tension edge at the eastern side facing the sea. This gives an optical illusion that the pool water over flows into the sea. the circular kiddie pool, is situated in a higher elevation. This pool is meant for the kids fun with its numerous bubbles and water spouts.

Comida de Pastor is the name of the main restaurant and bar offering both door and al fresco dining. Comida de Pastor by its name is Spanish in character. The Pastor Family that back from the 19th century, the time when Spain had a very strong influence on Batangas and the entire Philippine Islands.

The Comida specializes in the Pastor Family’s traditional recipes, seafood delicacies and serves a wide array of Filipino and some International Cuisine to please them ost discriminating palette. The bar also set the rustic ambience of the Comida, serves popular drins, mixes and cocktails. Its services also include operating a juice bar called the “Frapiche” located at the beach

Getting There

Verde Island Resort is in Verde Island South of Batangas City and North of Calapan, Oriental Mindoro. Travel time is around 2 hours’ car ride from Manila and an hour’s motorized boat ride from Batangas City Port to the Island itself.

Verde Island Resort offers either car, van, coaster or bus transfers to and from Manila. There is also a commercial boat from Batangas City Port that departs between 8:00 to 9:00 am and leaves Verde Island Resort between 4:00 to 4:30 pm.

How to get there:
From Manila, take South Luzon Expressway, exit at Batangas/Lucena/Legazpi. Drive straight down the National Highway. Turn right and enter STAR TOLLWAY, (Sto. Tomas) then, take Batangas exit. After passing the town of San Jose, follow directional signs to Batangas City. Upon reaching Balagtas intersection, you may either go straight the National Highway or take the Balagtas by-pass, going to Batangas City proper. Should you decide to take the by-pass, turn left at the intersection of Batangas City-Bauan road, to Batangas City proper.

To Tabangao Docking Area:
From Batangas City National Highway, turn left on the street after the Lions Marker beside the Provincial capitol, then left to Don Ramos Street. Turn immediate right, and drive down ahead. Take the road to the right leading to SM City and drive straight ahead to Tabangao, passing by San Isidro, Shell Refinery. Finally, turn right to a dirt road after San Miguel-Purefoods plant, and park your vehicle at Leah Beach.

If commuting:
Take any Bus Line (JAM/TRITRAN/ALPS) going to Batangas City pier, via Calabarzon. Alight at the gate before entering the Pier’s passenger jeep going to Verde Island Resort-Batangas City Office, or request pick-up going to Tabangao Docking Area.

To Verde Island Resort-Batangas Office:
From city plaza, right turn to M.H. Del Pilar St., going straight ahead leading to the New Market Road (Pastor Ave.) At the corner of Pastor Ave. and Cuta Road is the Verde Island Resort office.
