Situated at the northwestern tip of Pangasinan and Lingayen Gulf, the scenic town of Bolinao boasts of a number of pristine beaches regarded to be some of the bests in the province. An au fait traveler should have known by now that the towns in Patar beach tops the list of “must visit place in this part of the province. The white beach in Barangay Patar is a scenic spot ideal for tourism purposes.

Considered as a hidden treasure of Bolinao, Patar beach is a gem for the beach bums and the nature lovers as well. Though its sand may not be as pure white and refined as that of Boracay’s, its clear aquamarine waters and unspoiled surroundings are as inviting as any of the top beaches in the country. For travelers who constantly avoid crowded and over-developed beaches, the Patar beach of Bolinao is the best fit.

Patar Beach is surrounded by different hotels, it is not really easy to hunt for a good one because of the long travel, however, Hotelscombined.com can help you search over 30 hotel reservation websites at the same time and locate the one that offers the best deal instantly! But to give you a hint of how to go there, well, Bolinao travel is a 3-4 hour drive from Dagupan.

But before your get to paradise, you’ll have to encounter first a rough road that is really worth around 30 minutes of your time. The tourism infrastructures are not yet well developed but there are several resorts near the white beach. There is an old lighthouse that stands on a hill near the beach which is the landmark of the place. Going farther from the shoreline are cliffs and picturesque rock-formations. Moreover, the locals are friendly and helpful to the tourists. Certainly an idyllic place for a vacation get-away.

A good alternative for the resorts in Patar beach is this penthouse for rent, with a g r e a t view to Bolinao bay.

It has a master bedroom with aircon, bathroom, terrace 100 m2 and a outdoors bathtub with seaview.

hello! just thought of sharing my experience at bolinao. been there just this weekend. if you’re looking for the cheapest place to rent, aircon w/ own shower, the place is Bing’s Beach Resort. just chose the aircon nipa huts with veranda facing the beach which is larger than the rooms in the main building, for only P2k a night, where you could see a clear view of the beach all day. they provide gas range for cooking if you intend to cook but be sure to bring it your food. the only store you could see near Bing’s are sari-sari stores that offer only basic needs… i.e. noodles, can goods, softdrinks… Bing’s is about 30-45mins tricycle ride from the bus station if you are commuting. tricycle charge ranges from P200-P250, it is better to ride a tricycle near the church rather than those near the station which charges more, just tell them you’re going to patar. once in patar, you’ll find a lot of beaches along the way to Bing’s resort. the public beach is about 15-20minutes tricycle ride with prices ranging from P150-200, two-way. on going to the public beach, where the beach sand is finer than the once at Bings, you’ll pass by the lighthouse (that is, if your driver doesn’t chose the rough road). no entrance fee at the public beach, and there are a lot of stores that offer food (i.e. inihaw, burger, noodles) and a lot of others plus some souvenir shops… they are still some rough roads going to Bing’s but it’s ok. the fee at the enchanted cave is at P20 if you are only going to go and take a look inside and P40 if you are going to take a dip. enchanted cave is one of the 3 caves you’ll find going to patar, the other two are wonderful cave and cindy’s cave. not sure of their rates though since i only visited enchanted. email me for more concerns @ rhein98@gmail.com

    Hi Lennie !

There are many other affordable / cheap resorts in Patar just that I haven’t tried yet. However, to be sure that you have a ready accommodation when you go there, you can make reservation. As I’ve discussed earlier, Bing has a suitable place for big pax:

    Bing’s Beach resort has
    – Big house accommodation for 20 pax- at 8K per day;
    – Aircon Beach room for 4 pax – at 2k per day
    – Aircon Hotel room for 2 pax – at 2k per day

I think, the best for your group is the
    – Beach front Hut with veranda, no aircon, I think no bathroom for about 4 and above pax at Php 1,500. per day. You may use the spacious (open) veranda to accommodate all. Anyway, shower area is just beside it. The resort is not strict on the number of pax accommodation. They never charge for extra heads. You may opt to bring mattress for extra heads or just rent with minimal charges. There’s a small sari-sari store beside Bing’s. They were also selling mangoes and starapples when we were there at good price.
Contact number: 09282477501 c/o Grace or Mr. Bing.

There are also huts in the White Beach Resort area (end of the Patar road Bolinao Cape area) at Php1,500. but one hut is small for a group of 10.

Don’t forget to bring your beach shoes / sandals, otherwise, you won’t enjoy your beach swimming. Patar’s natural bedding is not sand but crushed corals. Bing’s resort has pool / lagoon-like swimmable front beach area . Other beach fronts are not swimmable during lowtide. Most people go to the White Beach Resort for swimming during lowtide. Waves in this area (cape) are quite big and strong. White Beach resort is like a public beach being maintained I think by their local gov’t with minimal entrance fee.

Hope the above would be of help. Enjoy and God bless!

Patar Beach is a public beach. There are no entrance fees. What you need to look for is a place/resort where you can stay if you’re into an overnight stay. If you’re into day tripping, you may just go straight to Patar Beach, of course, with your packed lunch. There are open cottages though, that ranges from P200.00-P300.00/rent, or you may opt to just bring a beach umbrella :)

For accomodations, you can contact Bing’s Resort (the cheapest resort in Patar). Their airconditioned room for 4pax is P2000.00 per night.
The resort is 10-15mins walk to Patar Beach.
Contact number: 09212807142/09282477501 and look for Mr. Bing Dodson or Grace.
