Isla Reta is a small beach resort in garden city of Samal. We took a 40-minute board ride from a port near Magsaysay Park at 50.00 each. The entrance fee is only 50.00 each for the whole day stay. There are no cottages here and if there are, its better not to rent one. Just get a table and bring your picnic blankets and dine below the trees. You can bring our own food and snacks, its allowed. Isla Reta has no high-class restaurants, hotel rooms or cottages. Its was just really a simple white beachfront. But they cook the best tasting native chicken tinola. Canibad Beach Resort (at Aundanao, Samal Island) is located at the other side of Samal Island facing Davao Oriental a 20km drive from Babak proper. Another place to relax and unwind at Samal Island.

Canibad is actually a sea by the foot of the mountains. So when you get there, you will see the vastness of the sea on top of a hill while coconut trees and mountains greet you welcome to Canibad! During the pre-war days, this place was owned by General Kimura, a Japanese general. This site served as a camp for the the Japanese guerillas and was then awarded to the NAPCO soldiers.

The ownership was handed down to a French National. This place was registered as Samal Beach Club, though locals commonly refer this to as France.
