Dalaguete got his name, according to folklore, when a group of spanish soldiers asked some woman, who were washing clothes under a giant dalakit tree, the name of the place who then answered “ Dalakit, Dalakit” From that day on this municipality was called Dalaguete.
Since then the municipality has grown in a bustling town with more than 50,000 inhabitants divided over 15,282 hectares and 33 Barangays.

The spacious beach resort is located in Dauin, 15 kms south of Dumaguete City on Negros Island and was opened end of 2004. The facility is built from divers for divers and is under Swiss Management. Located directly on a sandy beach, it is a real tropical atmosphere with lots of coconut palm trees and other plants around a large swimming pool.
The Beach Restaurant above the dive center has a nice view of beach, sea and the resort and offers Asian as well as international delicacies. After diving you can enjoy a “decompression” beer or a tropical drink at the Pool Bar.
